Whenever I’m on the road, I like to take some time to explore local attractions to expand my worldview and knowledge. On a recent trip to Shanghai, I literally reached new heights in my learning quest by visiting the world's highest library.

The library is located on the 60th floor of the JW Marriott hotel at Tomorrow Square in Shanghai, China. Just how high is that? That’s 757 feet (or 230 meters) above street level. You have to take a couple elevators to get there and then climb up some steps, but it’s definitely worth the experience.

Opened in November 2003, this library boasts a Guinness World Record for being the highest library above ground level, and it has great substance too, with over 100 shelves of fascinating Chinese and English books.

I will keep you posted on the latest travels and experiences.
