ACTING LIKE A LOCAL IN INDIA WITH MY TUK-TUK RICKSHAW

The greatest way to jump into the local culture is to try and eat, think and live like a local. On a trip to Bangalore, India, I had to get to a meeting across town. Sure, hotel car services were available, but why not take a tuk-tuk and risk your life?

Bangalore (also known as Bengaluru) is known as the tech capital of India. And if you haven’t been in a tuk-tuk before, think of it as a motorized rickshaw with no shocks, no air conditioning, and no seat belts. You just sit back and...don’t relax. It’s quite the harrowing adventure, but it’s also exhilarating.

Not only was the trip exciting, but it only cost around $2 to get to the meeting and back, which is a deal that’s hard to beat.

I work to stay invigorated while traveling but also try to stay safe too! Tuk-tuks probably won’t become my go-to mode of transportation anytime soon, but it was a great experience.

Riding around India’s tech capital of Bengaluru in a fancy Tuk Tuk on the way to my meetings.
